President's Message
These problems recognize no boundaries. They affect all cultures. They bring unhappiness and pain to rich and poor alike. Whether you are a parent, a teacher, a student, a community leader, or a government official, I'm sure that you have personal experience with this fact. For more than 30 years, ABLE staff and volunteers have come to the aid of those in need—students who have been dismissed as “unteachable,” criminal offenders judged unfit for freedom, addicts trapped in the hell of drug abuse, communities ravaged by a loss of basic values. Armed with unique methods and materials based on the discoveries and writings of L. Ron Hubbard, the international ABLE network has brought new life to individuals, families and communities. This network has grown steadily over the last three decades, and now includes over 900 groups in 75 countries. As you go through this website, you will discover more about this work. I want you to keep in mind that every ABLE program began with a decision by an ABLE volunteer to take action against a problem. In many cases, this simple decision—backed by materials and guidance from ABLE—has led to programs that have helped thousands of individuals. Whether you are a parent hoping to help your child with study, a community leader hoping to raise the quality of life for coming generations, or a prison official holding to a belief that somehow true rehabilitation is possible, we can help. ABLE offers tools that range from books and courses to specially designed programs that address specific local challenges. We don't have to watch helplessly as our children and communities suffer.
