Narconon - Effective Solutions for Substance Abuse

A non-traditional, drug-free approach to drug rehabilitation, the Narconon program uses the methodologies for handling drug and alcohol difficulties developed by
L. Ron Hubbard. At its rehabilitation centers around the globe, Narconon helps addicts free themselves from the grips of these substances. The full Narconon drug rehabilitation program starts with a drug-free and relatively pain-free withdrawal, progresses through a unique detoxification regime to rid the body of drug residues and culminates in life-skill courses that give the addict life skills to address those situations that lead to drug use in the first place.

While the full Narconon drug rehabilitation program is typically delivered in residential rehabilitation centers, several out-patient centers also exist and are increasing in numbers. Further, the initial actions of drug withdrawal and detoxification are delivered in the First Step program. With this program, the employed addict can break the grip of drugs, without having to devote several months to exclusively address their drug problem.

 

Drug Education

Realizing that addressing the dilemmas of individual addicts is not the solution to the societal-wide plague of substance abuse, Narconon International has developed and sponsors a highly effective drug education lecture program. Rather than relying on scare tactics, Narconon lecturers inform young people about what drugs truly do, how they affect a person's mind and body, and why they often give a temporary illusion of pleasure only to entrap. These truths are regularly recognized by young people, who then are able to make strong and informed decisions not to do drugs. In 2003 alone, more than 421,000 people were educated about the dangers of drugs through these lecture programs. The Narconon drug education lecture program is one of the most effective activities of its kind.
