How You Can HelpYou can support ABLE by donating in many different ways. Listed below are ways you can help: While we do accept monetary donations, we prefer to give you something in exchange for your financial support. Are membership program enables us to do this. We greatly look forward to having you on one of the most dedicated teams on this planet. Join the ABLE Association and help us bring about a world without drugs, crime, illiteracy and immorality. Gifts of cash have always represented the most fundamental and important source of support for ABLE. It is the easiest and most popular form of gift, and offers a tax deduction equal to the full value of the gift. Help Set Up an Employee Payroll Deduction Campaign in Your Company Many companies will match the donation you make to your favorite charity with an equal donation. Often you will find your co-workers looking for charities that they can support. Tell them about ABLE! Volunteer and Ask Your Company for a Matching Gift There are many ways you can participate in ABLE's activities. You can volunteer in one or more of ABLE's programs in your local community and many companies will make a matching gift based on the time you volunteer. Your personal time and contribution is invaluable. A matching gift will help fuel more programs. Make Gifts of Stocks and Property In many cases, a gift to ABLE of stocks or bonds may provide even greater tax benefits than a gift of equal value in cash. This is especially true for securities that have appreciated in value and could generate capital gains tax if they were cashed in. Whether through inheritance, collecting, or investment, one can accumulate personal property. Often these items may be costly to insure or difficult to sell. A gift to ABLE of artwork, collections (such as stamps or coins), antiques, boats or cars, or other items of personal property may be an effective alternative to making a monetary donation. Personal property gifts could be used to support ABLE's missions and programs. With continuing increase in property values, many people find that the real estate they own is their greatest asset. They may also find that it is an asset with a high price: property tax and maintenance costs, if held; capital gains tax, if sold. A gift to ABLE of property — residential, rental, vacation homes, farms, commercial or undeveloped — may offer significant tax benefits. The charitable bequest is the most familiar and widely used way to benefit ABLE at some future time. This is how many donors chose to establish a legacy after their lifetime. Well thought out planning is the key to creating a legacy for what you believe in and what you want to leave behind. A planned gift can be made in a number of different ways.
There are many ways you can help create a better future for our children and communities — if gifts are carefully planned. Gift planning is an art and a science that combines financial planning, estate planning and tax planning techniques to enable our supporters to make gifts of surprising significance, often with dramatic tax and financial rewards. We would be happy to talk over all the possibilities with you and your advisers.
